The epic saga of Ragnar Blackmane continues with this explosive tale set on the holy planet of Terra, where the ancient navigator house of Belisarius has long been allied with the mighty Space Wolves. In return for the means to navigate the treacherous warp, the Space Wolves provide an honour guard for the Patriarch of the house. But as Ragnar takes up this assignment, he uncovers a plot that reaches into the very depths of the Imperium and perhaps even to the God-Emperor himself!

He is the author of the much-loved Gotrek & Felix adventures and the Space Wolf novels. He currently lives in Prague. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

A few years old now but still one of the best novels in the Warhammer 40,000 Universe. A simple plot and well written!

Took me a few chapters to get into the story but once I got going, there was no stopping me. Excellent set of stories and very well written. I feel happy to have read it and sad to have finished it.

As all people who follow Games Workshops Warhammer 40'000 gaming system will know, a Space Marine is a genetically engineered superhuman warrior capable of extreme feats of bravery and strength which would leave a normal man dead. And quite rightly so, they are after all humanities finest warriors and our only hope in the grim darkness that is the far future.More die hard gamers will also know that Marines are very eloquent chaps who speak in deep bass voices and say stuff like, "The Emperor be with you", and "I shall know no fear". Unfortunately these points have passed William King by, and he writes of them seemingly as a group of teenagers who continually joke about passing wind.Kids out there looking for an easy read about your favourite 40k race, this is the book for you.Established gamers, stay away!!

Haven't put this book down yet, did not know what to expect from this but it has blown my expectations sky high, some other black libary books are slow but this is brilliant

Well written but, basically, just a straight forward repeat of the first Omnibus. With 40K stories, you always know what you are getting...which is good. Right?
